Black Gothic Thumblatch – XL | 45598

Traditionally used on a ledge and braced door, our thumb latch sets include a decorative door latch with a thumb shaped lever. When this lever is pressed down, it operates a thumb bar. The thumb bar passes through the door, lifting the latch bar on the opposite side and allowing the door to open. Our Blacksmith thumblatches are hammered into shape from mild steel using a traditional anvil and fire manufacturing method. Thumblatches are typically used in conjunction with a T hinge on traditional plank doors. Maximum door thickness: 75mm. Supplied with matching SS wood screws. Our classic Black finish is the perfect choice for those looking to make a bold statement. This finish is best suited to traditional properties and interiors, and looks fantastic when paired with neutral colourways and natural materials such as timber, stone and tile. Our Black products have a distinctive, subtle sheen; hand forged from mild steel this finish are extremely low maintenance, offering excellent corrosion resistance and durability as a result of being powder coated, then baked in a high temperature oven during the final stages of manufacturing.
